“While most individuals should wash their faces every morning and night, those with oily skin should do it first thing in the morning.

Even if your skin looks to be clean from the night before, it is constantly producing oils and shedding skin cells.

Other remedies for oily skin

The first step in treating oily skin is to create a daily skin care routine that works for you.

Once you’ve established this as a habit, you might wish to add other, less frequent stages to your routine, such as those listed below.

Make use of blotting papers.

If your skin appears to shine all day, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends using blotting papers to remove excess oil.

Gently press the paper on your skin for a few seconds to achieve this. This should absorb the majority of the oil. Repeat as required throughout the day.

Following your workout, you should wash your hands.

The AAD recommends cleaning your face after you exercise, in addition to your morning and evening routines. This is particularly vital if you do not intend to shower very soon.

Sweat, oil, and filth that may accumulate on your face when exercising can be removed by washing it.

This does not need to be a lengthy four-step procedure. Simply cleanse your face and apply a little layer of moisturizer.

It’s best if you can do this right after your workout.

Make intelligent product choices.

Dr. Adarsh Vijay Moudgil, the founder of Moudgil Dermatology in New York City, advises choosing skin care products carefully.

“Avoid alcohol-containing items, as they can induce an unexpected rise in oil secretion. Also, stay away from anything thick or greasy, such as cocoa butter or Vaseline,” he advises.

Foaming face cleansers from Crave and Neutrogena are among his favorites.
